We
suspended our campaign for nearly two weeks as Tim dealt with the
flooding in Merrimac serving as the Town's Administrator. Merrimac's
situation was serious, but folks here were fortunate as compared to
other communities through Dane, Columbia, and Sauk Counties. Or
thanks goes out to all of the emergency personnel, municipal, county,
state, and federal employees, and particularly to our community
volunteers. Thank you.

This
is the same farm building on June 12th and 13th. Water
levels here were at least 15 ft. |

This
is Halweg Rd. late on June 8th. The morning of June 13th
found a lot more rocks off of the Baraboo Bluffs. |

On
June 12th, Hwy. 12 north and I-90/94 was closed. Officials
diverted all traffic to Merrimac where travelers found all of our
north bound roads either under water or washed out. The only
way out was south on Hwy. 78 or the Merrimac ferry. (Above
left - Marsh Rd., above right - Bluff Rd., and below - State Hwy.
113). |

This
is what is left of an old dam that topped over and nearly breached near the Devil's Head
ponds. This "creek" has been dry for years. |

There
were approximately 6 landslides into Lake Wisconsin throughout the township.
This is one of the smaller ones located in Summer
Oaks Cove. |
